Could you live a year w/o shopping?

A friend of mine sent me an interesting link today. I think I could do it because I've done it! The first couple of years in Austin, I was extremely broke being a recent graduate.

If you think about it, most people spend more when they make more. When I was younger, I could live on next to nothing. And now....lets not go there.

  • Incredible. I would NEVER want to go there but yes, could survive a year without shopping. I sure as heck would be grumpy though.

    Your right, the more you make...the more you want and know you can afford. Actually...I need to seriously figure out a realistic budget for myself..and shopping at whole foods is not allowed. 12$ for 5 grapefruit..WTF????

  • LOL...you need to go to Fiesta instead of Whole Foods.

    I'm sure we could find plenty to do instead of shopping. For example, hiking in a.m., brunch, and then bar hoping. We might spend more money this way, huh?

  • I totally could go a year with out shopping, I just send out the asian to get my clothes. She has better taste than I do.

  • Trojan, I haven't been to a lot of brunches in fancy places lately. I've been doing Town Lake runs on some Saturdays and then go have branch at Magnolias...yummy. They serve mimosa.

    Apple, maybe Trojan & I could be your personal shopper. Give us the dough and we'll go with the flow.
